A delegation from Pakistan is now in Iran, which includes the country's army chief. They're meeting with the Iranian foreign minister and the speaker of Parliament as Pakistan works to hammer out a ceasefire deal between the two sides. Marco Rubio, who just landed in India after NATO meetings in Sweden, says there needs to be a plan B if Washington and Tehran. Tehran can't agree on a deal. Rubio says Tehran cannot control or monetize the freedom of navigation and they can't have a nuclear weapon back here in the uae. One official who spoke out recently said he thinks there's a 5050 chance that Iran and the US can get a deal. His concern lies within the fact that Iran, according to him, has a history of overplaying the cards they are dealt.

The Strait of Hormuz has been blockaded since the beginning of the war, closing off most of the world's oil supply and causing gas prices to spike around the world. Kevin Warsh was sworn in Yesterday as the 17th chair of the Federal Reserve.

It was a who's who in that ceremony war sworn in by Justice Clarence Thomas. Scott Bessant and Kevin Hassett were both in the room. Hassett, of course, was a frontrunner for the job at one point. Another finalist for the spot, Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller, made comments shortly before that ceremony saying it would be, quote, unquote, crazy for the Fed to contemplate cuts in the near future. Central Bakers say some policy firming might be appropriate if inflation persistently stays above that 2% target rate. Warsh begins his first term as the conflict in Iran puts upward pressure on prices. In the past, war has argued for reshaping the Fed and shrinking its footprint.

The director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard is resigning, she says, to be with her husband who was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer. Gabbard says her last day is expected to be June 30. Her tenure as DNI has been marked by declassifying millions of pages of government files on the assassinations of President Kennedy and his brother, former Attorney General Robert Kennedy. She also released files she says shows Obama administration officials politicized intelligence about Russian election interference. A former member of Congress, Gabbard ran for president as a Democrat in 2020. At the White House, Jared Halpern, Fox

Says the investigation is ongoing. The CDC has expanded enhanced public health entry screening for Ebola to Atlanta's Hartsfield Jackson International Airport. That's effective today. And it's in addition to screening that's currently underway at Washington's Dulles International Airport. Hartsfield Jackson previously conducted enhanced public health entry screening and it set established operational procedures to put in place. It's one component of the CDC's layered public health approach, which also includes overseas exit screening, airline illness reporting and post arrival public health monitoring. I'm Daria Alding.
