California and 19 other states are now suing the US Department of Health and Human Services alleging privacy rights of Medicaid enrollees were violated when the department turned over records to immigration officials. The record sharing is part of the Trump administration policy of insurance ensuring Medicaid funds are not being spent on health care coverage for illegal migrants who would be ineligible for coverage. The state suing HHS claim this could violate federal law arguing Congress extended Medicaid coverage even to persons who lack satisfactory immigration status and that states are tasked with determining eligibility. He intends to become the first brother to accept a plea deal from federal prosecutors when he pleads guilty to drug trafficking charges that from court documents, Ovidio Guzman Lopez was arrested in Mexico in 2023, sent back to the US and charged in a Chicago federal court with money laundering, drug and firearm offenses. Prosecutors allege Ovidio and his older brother, Joaquin Guzman Lopez, ran a faction of the cartel known as the Chapitos, or Little Chapos, then exported fentanyl to the. Joaquin Guzman Lopez was arrested last July in Texas after landing on a private plane. He pleaded not guilty to charges including money laundering and drug dealing.
