There really isn't much reason to be optimistic that they're going to find many survivors, but they are still calling this a search and rescue as the water has gone down one of the bridges that goes over the Guadalupe River. From the damage, the this bridge isn't entirely wiped out, but you can't trust this bridge anymore. You're not going to be able to transport over the top of this thing. So you're very likely looking at a lot of testing and destruction as it goes through. The sad task of trying to find the 27 girls at camp mystic continues. Little reason to be optimistic. That was an all girls Christian camp. They were there. The water came up simply just too fast.
Jack Callahan
Hundreds of people have been rescued. The fast moving waters of the Guadalupe river reportedly rose 26ft in just 45 minutes when a storm system stalled over the area. FOX is Madeleine Rivera in Washington, D.C. with more on White House reaction.

The wind is howling here at the beach. We're getting blasted by the sand. Still some leftover rain. We've got six to eight footers rolling in. As the wind goes offshore, they'll clear up and the surfers are going to love that. Looking up the beach. There's a few folks out here. You know, I've spoken to a lot of people covering all these storms over the years, storms and hurricanes. A lot of them come out here because they've never experienced a tropical storm or hurricane. They just want to take it in. And it's safe to do so right now as long as you stay out of the water as far as impacts. Power outages not too bad because the peak wind gust was here at the pier just down the beach at Springmade Pier in Myrtle beach, the peak wind gust with the storm that we've seen on the coast so far, 56 miles an hour.
