This news just absolutely shocked Washington. Graham had just been overseas meeting with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky. He came back to Washington and died last night after suffering from what his office called, quote, a brief sudden illness. Graham was trying to broker a deal to end the war in Ukraine.

I've been more optimistic than I am today that we have the formula to end this war, help Ukraine be more lethal. Let those supporting Russia to know it's going to be a price to be paid if you keep doing it.

He's ordered US Flags to fly at half staff in the White House and government buildings nationwide to honor the now late Senator Lindsey Graham. Recovery efforts continue in Missouri after massive flooding killed at least one person, forcing also hundreds of emergency rescues and evacuations.

Floodwaters have receded in southeastern Missouri after 6 to 12 inches of rain prompted a flash flood em early Friday morning. Recovery crews are assessing damage and clearing debris using specialized equipment. Missouri Task Forces 1, 3 and 5 joined more than 40 agencies across the state and the National Guard in those rescue and recovery efforts. The Missouri DOT inspecting and repairing flood damaged roads as of Saturday evening, no additional deaths, injuries or missing persons were reported and recovery is expected to take time as communities begin rebuilding in southeastern Missouri. A father and son dead after a small plane goes down in Illinois.

Jimmy Don Lewis and his son Braden had attended Thursday night St. Louis Cardinals Milwaukee brewers game in St. Louis. Both were on their way home to Salome, Arkansas, but they encountered storms in Waterloo, Illinois. Their plane crashed into a field due to the rain and poor visibility. Rescue teams didn't find the wreckage till about five hours after the plane went down. Chris DeMaio, Fox News.

The NFL Seattle Seahawks have been sold to the Kosloff family for a reported $9.6 billion. That's pending league approval. That sale fulfilling the wishes of the late owner Paul Allen, who bought the team back in 1997 and helped keep that franchise in the city of Seattle. Meantime, Argentina headed toward the World cup semifinals with a three to one extra time win over Switzerland that tied at one until a spectacular long range goal in minute number one 12 put Argentina ahead.
