Court voted 7 to 4 to strike down the president's tariffs, but it does not take effect until October 14, giving the administration time to appeal to the Supreme Court. The president reacting to the decision on Truth Social, saying in part, if allowed to stand, this decision would literally destroy the United States of America. At the start of this Labor Day weekend, we should all remember that tariffs are the best tool to help our workers and support companies that produce great Made in America products. This decision won't affect some of the other framework and trade deals the president has made because in those cases, the countries agreed to the tariffs. Those countries include the European Union, Japan, the Philippines, the UK among others.

Siding with an immigrant rights group, a federal judge has temporarily blocked the administration from carrying out speedy deportations of illegal immigrants detained in the interior of the United States. We're learning more about the horrific shooting that claimed the lives of two children at a Catholic church in Minneapolis this week.
Brook Taylor
Early Wednesday morning during the first week of school, a gunman outside the church fired more than 100 rounds through the glass windows during a morning mass shooter aiming at children from the Annunciation Catholic School church that were sitting in the pews. Two young children were killed, identified by family as 8 year old Fletcher Merkel and 10 year old Harper Moisky. 18 others were injured. Most have been released from the hospital, but there are still six there, including five young children. Now, the school's buddy system pairing older kids with younger kids may have saved lives. A father whose five kids attend the school said, quote, the first action by those middle schoolers was to push their buddies down under the pew, which is why the middle schoolers were the ones who were standing the longest and were largely the injured.

Plans for expanded immigration raids in Chicago have the governor of Illinois upset.
Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker
This has heated up an ongoing feud between the President and Illinois Governor J.B. pritzker, who acknowledged that there are certain agencies like the FBI and ATF that he would welcome, but not the National Guard, saying that the state would not sit idly by if the White House went down that path. Well, the White House says part of its crime fighting efforts includes ramping up immigration enforcement. Here is border czar Tom Homan on the job of Chicago's mayor.

You would think he'd welcome the assistance. His number one responsibility. It's the safety and security of that city. If he's not going to do it, President Trump's going to do it.
