Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant says President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping are expected to finalize the deal in a phone call on Friday. Besant would not offer specifics, though the deal emerged after a weekend of trade talks in Spain between US and Chinese officials. Congress passed a ban of TikTok in the US if the Chinese owned company ByteDance did not divest. President Trump has extended that deadline, which is set to expire Wednesday.

British police say the main suspect in Madeleine McCann's disappearance refuses to cooperate with investigators.

Madeleine McCann disappeared from a resort in Portugal in 2007. She was three years old, on vacation with her family from England. Police in Great Britain and Germany said five years ago a German man named Christian Bruckner probably killed her. Now he's due to be released from prison soon after serving seven years for raping a woman in the same area of Portugal where Madeleine McCann disappeared. British police say he has refused their request to be interviewed about the case. He's denied having anything to do with it. German and Portuguese police are also still actively investigating. There was another search for evidence or a body in June. Chris Foster, FOX News.

The Texas attorney general just announcing that Colgate Palmolive will make new packaging and marketing for toothpaste products beginning November 1, in part showing age appropriate amounts of toothpaste for younger kids. Amid concern about fluoride exposure, a major food company is ditching more additives.

Tyson Foods says it will stop using high fructose corn syrup by the end of the year. It also will no longer use the artificial sweetener sucralose preservatives BHA and BHT in food coloring, titanium dioxide. In addition to Tyson poultry and meat products, it makes other food brands including Jimmy Dean, Ballpark and Hillshire Farm. Earlier this year, Tyson removed petroleum based synthetic dyes from its products. Though the Trump administration has been pushing the food industry to make changes aimed at improving the health of Americans, Tyson says the decision was voluntary and it has been working in recent years to reduce food additives.
