Investigators have been sorting through mountains of digital evidence from the alleged killer's phone as well as his presence online where he allegedly confessed to the shooting hours before turning himself in. In messages obtained by the Washington Post from an online group chat with around 30 people, the suspect allegedly said, hey guys, I have bad news for you all. It was me at UVU yesterday. I'm sorry for all of this. I'm surrendering through a sheriff friend in.

Dismissed two state terror charges in New York's case against Luigi Mangione, calling the evidence behind the charges legally insufficient. Mancioni's lawyers wanted the judge to throw out second degree murder charges against their client as well, arguing that the New York case and a parallel federal death penalty case amounted to double jeopardy. The judge rejected that argument, saying that it would be premature to do that.
