Across the nation today looks pretty good. We got some sunshine to talk about, especially across the northern tier, Kansas City, 87 degrees. So a little bit of heat across the nation's midsection. Meanwhile, on the east coast, we got a lot of rain and a lot of that is going to get extremely complicated. Big story here on five clouds. We have a potential tropical cyclone number nine. This is eventually going to become Hurricane Imelda. We're watching it over the next several days. The problem is there's a lot of model discrepancies. So a few solutions here.

James Anderson was charged in 2023 with murdering his wife, Victoria, in Harris County. Court officials say he was expected to plead guilty to his wife's murder and was likely to get 35 years in prison as part of a plea deal.
