It was Sunday around 10:30am when officials say the shooter drove his pickup truck right through those front doors of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Grand Blank, Michigan, and started shooting at those worshippers with an assault rifle. He then lit the church on fire and burned it down.

The FBI is leading this investigation. They're carrying out those search warrants and digging through the shooter's phone records to try to find a motive here.

Village of Broadview Police say they've launched a criminal investigation after a CBS Chicago reporter claims that she had a pepper ball fired at her vehicle that she parked outside an ICE detention facility, the site of chaos and violence in recent days and protests over mass deportation policies. The reporter saying she wasn't hurt, though police say they expect full cooperation by the Department of Homeland Security.
