Savannah Guthrie saying, we are aware of the media reports about a ransom note, but then she's appeared to to directly address a potential kidnapper, saying we are ready to talk but we need to know with absolute certainty that she, meaning Nancy Guthrie, is alive. And then she said and that you have her. So that is a direct request to any kidnapper or kidnappers out there that they want to see proof of life.

Mix of ICE and CBP agents immediately leaving the Twin Cities region, Tom Homan said after he reached an agreement with state and local officials to have county jails notify ICE of criminal aliens before they are released back onto the street so federal immigration officers can get them while they are still being held in custody and not have to go out into the communities to find them. Homan says this is smart law enforcement, not less law enforcement, and he emphasized that this agreement does not force local authorities to do any federal immigration enforcement themselves or even keep aliens a single minute past their scheduled release.

The man who tried to assassinate President Trump on his Florida golf course just two months before the 2024 election has been sentenced to life in prison, the sentence handed down by Judge Aileen Cannon, who had previously called the suspect not a good man. The defendant's attorney, Martin Roth, says they'll appeal.

I think the judge may have mistakenly applied the federal crime of terrorism enhancement, and that will be probably the leading issue on appeal. I will be filing a notice of appeal in this case.

Prosecutors said this guy camped outside of the president's golf course in 2024. A Secret Service agent testified he spotted the suspect. The man aimed his rifle at the agent who opened fire, causing him to drop his weapon and run away without firing a shot. As activists claim more than 50,000 people are arrested in protests in Iran, the country prepares for talks with the United States.

One thing of note is that just this morning, Secretary Rubio is signaling that the talks are for Friday are back on track. But he is pushing back on some of the more erratic demands that the Iranians have been making the last 24 hours. One thing they proposed yesterday, they said when they sit down with the US On Friday, they only want to talk about the nuclear issue. Rubio says that's probably not going to work overnight. Iran's foreign minister told an Iranian news outlet, quote, planning for the negotiations has been made for the coming days. Consultations to determine the venue for the talks are currently underway. While info will be shared as soon as it is finalized.

FOX is jilled in the US Military carrying out five strikes against ISIS targets across Syria. The strikes happened from January 27 to February 2. According to US Central Command, Centcom forces destroyed an ISIS communications site, critical logistics node and weapons storage facilities. US and partner forces launched Operation Hawkeye strike in response to a Dec. 13 ISIS attack that killed two U.S. service members as well as an American interpreter. I'm Ted Lindner.
