The deadline to extend subsidies under the Affordable Care act is growing closer as lawmakers wrestle on extending them or finding an alternative. Fox's Chad Pergrim has more details on this from Capitol Hill.
Chad Pergrim
Health care has vexed Congress for years. This week is no different. Senate Democrats plan a test vote Thursday on a bill to renew Obamacare money. That issue was central to the government shutdown. But most Republicans reject that. Obamacare tax credits expire at the end of the year. There's a push from a coalition of bipartisan lawmakers for a separate plan. It would reform Obamacare. The they say any package must have buy in from both sides. Republicans are using the occasion to torch Obamacare. But Republicans have struggled for years to find an alternative to Obamacare.
Ted Lindner
President Trump and congressional Republicans fell in and dismantled the Affordable care Act in 2017 during the president's first term. The GOP's floated a proposal to extend the subsidies for two more years while figuring out a broader alternative. But Democrats want a clean extension without any changes to the law. America's listening to Fox.

Alina Habba has resigned as acting U.S. attorney for New Jersey. Fox's Jeff Manasso with more.
Jeff Manasso
Alina Haba made a post on X saying she's giving up her fight to stay in as the top federal prosecutor for New Jersey following a months long legal battle over whether or not Haba could serve as U.S. attorney without Senate confirmation, as judges have ruled that Haba was serving in the position without lawful authority. A federal appeals court unanimously upholding that decision last week. Haba will remain at the DOJ as senior adviser to Attorney General Pam Bondi, who also slammed what she calls politicized judges in the case. Jeff Manasso, Fox News.

A potential fraud scheme turning attention to Minnesota, where a Democratic congressman from the state is deflecting claims of being involved during an appearance on CBS's Face the Nation Sunday. Fox's Mike Tobin with more from Minneapolis.
Mike Tobin
Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is on the defense. First, she said that defrauded programs lack sufficient guardrails to stop it. And then she went on to say that if some of these stolen tax dollars made their way to Somalia and the terror group Al Shabaab. She said this on Face the Nation. Really essentially, she said that is the fault of the courts and the FBI for not stopping it.
Ilhan Omar
If there was a linkage in that, the money that they have stolen going to terrorism, then that is a failure of the FBI and our court system.
Mike Tobin
Analysts with whom we spoke say it's unlikely that Omar would not have had some exposure to the corruption.
Ted Lindner
More Democratic congresswoman. Minnesota Democratic Congressman Elon Omer has not been directly linked to the scheme. More than 70 people have been charged in the fraud. And a federal judge has struck down President Trump's executive order blocking wind energy projects, saying the effort to halt virtually all leasing of wind farms on federal lands and waters was arbitrary and capricious and violates U.S. law. Judge Patty Sarris of the U.S. district Court in Massachusetts vacated the president's executive order blocking wind energy projects. I'm Ted Lindner.
