DHS says Preddy had a 9 millimeter semi automatic handgun on him and two full magazines when he approached agents. Officers tried to disarm Preddy, but they claim he violently resisted and an agent fearing for his life ultimately shot Preddy.

Protesters are demanding that federal immigration agents leave Minneapolis after two deadly shootings just this month. Minneapolis Police Chief Brian o' Hara says police believe the man shot Alex Preddy was a lawful gun owner with a permit to carry.
