Pergram on Capitol Hill, President Trump says there's bipartisan work to avo what would be a partial shutdown. But the deadline is tomorrow night.
Chad Pergram
Even if they get a D on this and are able to split off the homeland Security bill and then pass the other five bills separately and send this back to the House, there is going to be a government shutdown starting at 12:01 in the morning on Saturday. The reason is because the House and Senate are not on the same page.
Alisa Brady
A handful of Republican senators also voted against the package in today's test vote. Democrat demands include masks off and cameras on for ICE agents, a code of conduct and an end to roving ICE patrols. It's not clear if proposing a separate bill for changes would allow the current spending bills to advance this as Borders R Tom Homan announces possible progress on the ground in Minnesota after meeting with the state attorney general.
Tom Homan
And he has clarified for me that county jails may notify ICE of the release dates of criminal public safety risks so ICE can take custody of them upon the release from the jail.

That's part of the cooperation the administration has been pushing for, which Homan says can help lead to a drawdown of federal agents in the state, a possible pause in Ukraine because of extreme cold.

Shawn Grayson gets a 20 year prison sentence for the murder of Sonya Massey. On July 6, 2024, she reported a possible prowler outside her home in Springfield, Illinois. Inside with another deputy, Grayson orders Massey to remove a pot of hot water from the stove and put it down. She says, I rebuke you in the name of Jesus. He threatens to shoot her. She says, I'm sorry, puts her hands up and ducks behind a counter. He approaches. There's confusion. And then she's shot in the face. Grayson says he thought Massie was going to throw hot water at him. The other deputy testified there was no threat. Massie was 36 years old, black, a single mother with mental health problems that had been reported to police. Grayson is white, 31, convicted in October of second degree murder. He's required to serve at least 10 years of that sentence. Chris Foster, FOX News.

Nothing concrete, though, adding she and President Trump did not speak about Cuba and they also did not talk about critical minerals. However, it's a topic that our countries are discussing.
