Gathering evidence. I'm Paul Stevens, Fox News. The investigation into a deadly national guard attack in D.C. continues as one top intelligence officer reveals the suspect in the case was not vetted for entry into the US fox's Madeleine Rivera with more.
Joe Kent
The head of the National Counterterrorism center is focusing on the standards for vetting, it appears because he does acknowledge the suspect, 29 year old Ramanullah Lockinwal was vetted by the intelligence community in Afghanistan. That was for Lockinwal's work for zero units and elite Afghan counterterrorism force operated by the CIA. But the director of the nctc, Joe Kent, says Lockanwal was only vetted to fight against U.S. enemy forces in Afghanistan and not for his suitability to come to America. And Kant says that was the standard the Biden administration used during the Afghanistan withdrawal in 2021. Lock and Waldo was granted asylum earlier this year and that would have warranted another screening process including biographic checks, biometric checks and in person interviews.

Meantime, tributes continue to pour in for 20 year old Sarah Beckstrom with service members paying respect during her fallen soldier procession in D.C. 24 year old Andrew Wolf remains in critical condition. Fed say they will be seeking the death penalty against the suspect. He's now facing first degree murder for the death of Beckstrom. Meantime, officials in Ukraine say Russia launched a major overnight attack on Kyiv with drones and missiles which hit residential areas across several districts. President Volodymyr Zelensky saying at least three people were killed, dozens hurt. The strike coming as one of Zelensky's senior advisers resigns amid a corrupt probe involving the state nuclear agency. Eight more people have been arrested, bringing the total to 11 after the Hong Kong apartment fire that killed 128 people. Police charging seven men and a woman linked to the building's renovation which used Styrofoam and bamboo scaffolding suspected of fueling the blaze. America is listening to FOX News.
