A county sheriff in North Carolina just confirming there are fatalities after the crash of a business jet that was trying to land at a regional airport in Statesville, north of Charlotte. No word yet, though, on how many people were killed. The FAA and the NTSB will investigate that crash. The Cessna bursting into flames when it went down. The airport's website says it offers corporate aviation facilities and four Fortune 500 companies, as well as several NASCAR teams. A killer is scheduled to die later today in Florida on death row for multiple murders in the 1980s.

58 year old Frank Athen Walls was convicted in 1988 for shooting and killing an Air Force airman and his girlfriend during a home invasion in Eglin Air Force Base. But Walls would later confess to three more killings while Florida Supreme Court reversed his conviction. He was reconvicted and resentenced to death following a second trial in 19. Wall's execution will be the 19th death sentence carried out in Florida this year.
