Texas Republican Brandon Gill claims that bad actors from the Somali community operate in both states. At a hearing, Gill tangled with Democratic Ohio State Senator Nikki Antonio. But Antonio pushed back, saying Republicans control Ohio's state government. House Republicans dared Democrats to oppose anti fraud bills. One bill on the floor increased oversight for childcare programs. Another bill blocks people from bilking the needy out of government aid.

Committee chairman Jim Jordan is one of several elected officials ra raising concerns about the price fans have to pay to watch NFL games and whether the league streaming deals comply with the 1961 Broadcasting Law that granted the league a limited antitrust exemption. Courts have previously ruled the law applies only to broadcast networks, not cable, satellite or streaming. There's been bipartisan sentiment in favor of updating the statute. The Justice Department is investigating the NFL for potential anticompetitive practices.
