The strikes targeted Iran's air defenses, drone storage facilities, cruise missiles targeting radars, mine laying capabilities and surface to air missile systems. And sirens are sounding in Bahrain and Kuwait in what appears to be a retaliatory attack by Iran. The latest fighting is further straining an already fragile ceasefire and long term peace talks. The escalation began on Thursday when Tehran attacked a cargo ship with a drone in the Vida Waterway. The US Responded with airstrikes on western Iran. Iran retaliated by targeting a US Base in Bahrain.
