The White House not reacting after the Kremlin poured cold water on claims of progress, saying it won't agree to security guarantees Ukraine unless Russia is part of the group providing Ukraine security. On Russian state media, the Kremlin dug in further, saying security guarantees should come from the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, which also includes China, giving Moscow another lever to veto implementation, which is the same position Russia's held since 2022 and not how the White House described Putin's position after Trump's meeting with him in Alaska.

The US Intelligence community is getting an overhaul.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard says over the last 20 years the office has become bloated and inefficient. She is announcing a major overhaul of the Office of the Director of national intelligence, unveiling what she's calling ODNI 2.0. Her plan would reduce the office by 40% and cut $700 million in annual spending by eliminating redundant missions, functions and personnel. Gabbard has accused her predecessors of manipulating intelligence to push false narratives about Russian election interference and has referred several former Obama administration officials for criminal prosecution. A federal appeals court in San Francisco allows the Trump administration to end temporary protections for 60,000 migrants from Central America and Nepal. The panel temporarily halted in order to by a district judge who kept the migrant protections in place while immigrant rights groups challenged the administration and some bears in Lake Tahoe apparently wild over ice cream.

Police say a brown bear recently raided a south Lake Tahoe ice cream shop. Surprisingly, just a bare minimum of damage was done to the place. Apparently this bear just wanted strawberry ice cream. The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office says deputies could barely believe their eyes when they saw the bear hanging out behind the store counter looking like he was ready to serve the next customer. The sheriff's office said the bear left with some encouragement from the deputies. Last May, another bear broke into another Lake Tahoe ice cream store, but that guy made off with three gallons of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. Again, barely any damage left behind till NATO, FOX news.
