The US And UK Are united in wanting an end to the war in Ukraine. President Trump sounding off on Russian President Putin.
Keir Starmer (0:27)
He's let me down.
Ryan Schmelz (0:28)
He's really let me down. President Trump says he's disappointed other countries are still buying oil from Russia and argues if the price of oil comes down, Putin is going to drop out. Congress is weighing legislation to put new sanctions on Russia, like slapping significant tariffs on countries that purchase Russian energy. In Washington, Ryan Schmell's FOX News Starmer.
Sue Guzman (0:50)
Is on board with sanctions against Putin.
Ryan Schmelz (0:52)
We have to put extra pressure on Putin, and it's only when the president has put pressure on Putin that he's actually shown any inclination to move. So we have to ramp that pressure up. I think it's important to have this conversation in the context of what's happened in recent weeks.

Meantime, the president says there's one point where he and Starmer disagreed.
Keir Starmer (1:12)
First of all was Palestine. We thought that was going to be a point where the two sides were going to clash because Keir Starmer, the prime minister, is planning on recognizing the state of Palestine perhaps next week. And in fact, Peter Doocy asked him why he was waiting until the end of the state visit before doing so, and he just replied that it was planned that way beforehand. But President Trump was quite clear about where he stands. He said, this is the one place that we have disagreements on. And he kept referring back to October 7th and how it was the worst day in the history of humanity and that the hostages must be released now, not piecemeal. Prime Minister Keir Starmer countering that by saying he was recognizing the state of Palestine to try and force Israel to get more aid into Gaza.
