The University of Houston's Hobby School of Public affairs, surveying 1200 Texans who are likely to vote in the upcoming GOP Senate primary runoff, finding Texas Attorney General ken Paxton with 48% of the vote and incumbent Senator John Cornyn with 45%. The runoff comes after neither candidate secured a majority of the vote in March. The poll suggests Paxton supporters feel immigration and election integrity is a top issue, while Cornyn voters are more concerned about the cost of living and inflation. And voters are evenly divided, giving both Republicans 43% when determining who would be the strongest candidate to take on Democrat Texas State Representative James Talarico in November.
