The Iranians today, according to Iranian state media, have submitted a response through a Pakistani mediator. Ambassador Mike Waltz wouldn't say today exactly whether or not the US Team have received word. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and presidential envoy Steve Witkoff met with Qatar's prime minister and minister of foreign affairs in Miami discussing US Support for Qatar's defense, continued partnerships and efforts to ensure stability in the Middle East. And just days ahead of President Trump's high stakes visit to China, Rubio has argued that it is in China's best interest that Iran stop closing the Strait of Hormuz.

That is fox's Alex Hogan. Iran's response reportedly focuses on allowing traffic to flow through the Strait of Hormuz, but does not include a plan for Iran's nuclear program, something the US has rejected in previous proposals. Passengers on a cruise ship with cases of hantavirus on board are bound for their native countries to be observed for symptoms. Fox's Grinal Scott has the details on that story.

More than 140 passengers aboard the MV Hondius, including 17Americans, will recover from any symptoms in their home countries. While hantavirus can be fatal, at least three people who were on the ship died. University of Minnesota infectious disease expert Dr. Michael Osterholm said it can be managed by asking twice a day, experience any

kind of a fever and then take the temperature. Do you have any symptoms? If somebody is identified right at that point, you can put basically an N95 mask on and stop all transmission.

Grinal Scott, FOX News America is listening to FOX News. At least 15 people were sent to the hospital after a possible boat explosion at a popular party destination in North Miami beach. Officials say 25 rescue units were sent to that scene, including fire boats and ocean rescue crews, as they're calling it a level two mass casualty event. The condition of those victims still is unknown as investigators work to figure out the cause of that incident. President Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping are set to meet in Beijing this week. The two expected to discuss the war in Iran, tensions in Taiwan, trade and more. And President Trump not going alone, reportedly inviting a number of CEOs from companies like Nvidia, Apple, ExxonMobil, Boeing and more. The summit marks the first visit to China by a sitting US president since Trump's last visit back in 2017. Well, Mother's Day is here, and Americans are showing mom plenty of love and and spending plenty to do it. Fox's Jack Callahan, Mother's Day spending is

expected to hit a record $38 billion this year, even with many families watching their budgets. The National Retail Federation says more than eight in 10 adults are celebrating, spending an average of about $284 on gifts, flowers, meals and special outings. Flowers remain the most popular purchase, while jewelry is expected to bring in the most money. Overall, electronics are also gaining ground, with spending in that category projected to top $4 billion for the first time. Mom will tell you it's the thought that counts, although gifts probably don't hurt either. Jack Callahan, FOX NEWS Schools and universities
