New York State will have new restrictions on federal immigration enforcement.

The bill signed by Governor Kathy Hochul, a Democrat, restricts local police from cooperating with ICE agents. And that's not all.

We are banning masks for all law enforcement in the state of New York next. We are also making sure that people have a constitutional right to go to court if the federal government, ICE agents have violated their rights.

Some New York law enforcement officials object to the bill and have threatened legal action. The announcement comes a day after Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, also a Democrat, outlined new guidance that includes barring ICE access to certain parts of schools, child care providers, health care facilities and places of worship. requiring a judicial warrant for immigration agents to access certain areas, including schools, and ensuring access to education regardless of immigration status. An ICE agent accused of shooting a Venezuelan man during a Minnesota crackdown and lying about it is now in custody. Arrested today in Texas by Rangers and agents from the Homeland Security inspector general's office. 52 year old Christian Castro facing charges including assault and falsely reporting a crime. It's not quite June and already a man is banned for life from all Six Flags amusement parks after what happened at Cedar Point in Ohio.
