officers and two with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence were placed on leave in February of last year and told they'd be fired. President Trump ordered an end to the diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility initiatives they'd been assigned to. A federal judge eventually last March blocked the firings, saying these were career officers in the wrong place at the wrong time and should be given a chance to appeal or apply for other jobs now. A panel of the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals in Virginia upholds that ruling. Two one citing the officers due process rights under agency regulations. The dissenting judge says agency directors have unfettered discretion to fire employees and hopes the Supreme Court takes the case and agrees.

Police in Columbia, S.C. are charging both 21 year old Malik Locke and 28 year old Zanna Oden with a number of child endangerment charges in connection with Odin's daughters being left alone in a home that caught fire. The girls are 6, 4 and 2, but first responders also found the home to be infested with insects, the kids possibly malnourished and at least one child's diaper filled with maggots. Investigators say the children had been left alone for at least a week.
