has hit roads and bridges around Bandarabas, a strategic port city near the Strait of Hormuz. Their aim is to isolate the IRGC from resupplying. CENTCOM touted the destruction of one observation tower in particular, which they say significantly weakens the IRGC's ability to coordinate attacks on ships. The US is denying Iran's claim that it's hitting civilian infrastructure, arguing it's been striking military targets with one goal in mind. On the other hand, the US Says Iran has been the bad actor carrying out these attacks on civilian ships and damaging a water desalination plant in Kuwait. Iran is refusing to back down, carrying out retaliatory attacks on US Targets in the Gulf region.

And that's fox's Madeleine Rivera. Showers expected to clear up some lingering Canadian wildfire smoke today and over the weekend in the mid Atlantic.

Earlier in the week, we saw most of the really heavy smoke around Chicago, Detroit, up into Milwaukee as of this morning. That has pushed to the east, Pittsburgh, an area where you're seeing really intense smoke. And actually most of that smoke now in Pennsylvania, West Virginia. Those were the highest numbers on the board. Those are significantly lower than they were a couple of days ago back across Wisconsin, back across Minnesota. But that smoke is going to continue to move into New England. So if you're in front of this rain, expect the smoke to get worse through the day until the rain ultimately does clear it up. Then a true cold front back behind that. So more in the evening hours. That could bring some severe weather, but it's going to bring some heavy rain and that will finally knock some of this smoke out of the air. That could be severe isolated risk of tornadoes.

three lawsuits were filed this week, including in Michigan and Ohio federal courts by people who allege they became sick after eating at Taco Bell's Tide to contamina lettuce, the supplier of the lettuce linked to Taylor Farms. The company recalling its product saying this quote, while the FDA traceback is indicating a specific independent farm, which represents less than 1% of the US iceberg lettuce supply, as the potential source of the outbreak, we have removed all iceberg lettuce from the region indefinitely.
