A reversal at Howard University where some of the freshmen whose enrollments were suddenly dropped have now been readmitted.

Interim university president Wayne Frederick said of the more than 500 incoming students who were unenrolled at Howard last week, more than 200 will be able to first year at the HBCU in August. Frederick said the issue was a misunderstanding over financial obligations that the prospective students families had to meet. He said the school set mid July for tuition balances to be paid and stuck with that policy. Howard officials met with many of the families who said they previously could not reach the university by phone or email. That led to agreements for some to be readmitted.

In a statement, the Department of Veterans affairs says there is evidence semaglutides impact the brain's reward center. And they say this might help reduce alcohol cravings, adding there are 400,000 veterans with diagnosed alcohol use disorder and that 11% of the general population may have an alcohol disorder. Some have reported craving less of many things, including shopping when using a GLP1. Now the VA will enroll 600 veterans at 18 VA medical centers diagnosed with moderate to severe alcohol use disorder. They will receive semaglutide injections or a placebo over a six month period.
