Spent Friday afternoon meeting with U.S. oil executives about possible re engagement in Venezuela, further actions were taken to secure sanctioned oil being transported out of that country as diplomatic talks take shape. Fox's Edmund Brown has more.

A team of U.S. diplomats landed in Venezuela Friday, the first of such personnel to take a mission to meet with leaders in that country since the U. S led ousting of dictator Nicolas Maduro. It could be the first step towards resuming regular relations with Venezuela, which had been suspended since 2019. The US military conducted another seizure of an oil tanker allegedly transporting sanctioned Venezuelan oil. This is the fifth such vessel. It also comes as President Trump posts on social media that a secondary military operation inside Venezuela had been called off. In Minnesota, they've created this new assistant attorney general who will soon report directly to the president with findings that top Republicans believe will show that Minnesota is just a tiny part of a very big problem. According to a White House fact sheet, the new assistant attorney general will also help develop and set national enforcement priorities and propose legislative and regulatory reforms as necessary to close systematic vulnerabilities and prevent future abuses.

Five Republican senators frustrated President Trump as they joined Democrats on a resolution to potentially rein in the president's war powers in Venezuela. On the House side, over a dozen Republicans voted with Democrats on a three year extension of the Affordable Care act tax credits. Several lawmakers tell FOX News the hope is that passing the legislation will will force a compromise bill to extend the COVID era program that impacts about 20 million Americans.
