Another deadly shooting in Minneapolis. I'm Daria Albinger, Fox News. For the second time this month, there has been a deadly shooting involving federal agents in the Minnesota Capitol. Bystander videos that were taken during the man's deadly confrontation with Border Patrol agents show the man who was shot was holding a phone, not a gun. Minnesota Governor Tim Walsh.

Thank God we have video because according to dhs, these seven heroic guys took an onslaught of a battalion against them or something. It's nonsense, people. It is nonsense and it's lies.

An individual approached U.S. border Patrol officers with a 9 millimeter semi automatic handgun. The officers attempted to disarm this individual, but the armed suspect reacted violently. Fearing for his life and for the lives of his fellow officers around him, an agent fired defensive shots.

I hope you know that Minneapolis cares deeply for you. There are 435,000 residents that will do everything possible to stand with you.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Fry with a message to the family. The Northeast is bracing for a huge winter storm system which has left parts of the south in the deep freeze.
Nick Kosar
Much of the eastern two thirds of the country being impacted by a historic winter storm. Snow and ice reports continue to come in across the plains. Over a half a foot of snow has already been reported along with ice up to three quarters of an inch across northern Louisiana. Meanwhile, significant snow and ice accumulation expected to continue to lead to widespread power outages and major travel disruptions that will last for several days. And if the snow and ice weren't enough, there's a chance of severe storms across the Gulf coast on Sunday afternoon. The main threat looks to be strong, gusty winds with a brief tornado possible.

Shooting of a Minneapolis resident by Border Patrol agents lead to another government shutdown.
Chuck Schumer
Senate Democrats were already angry about homeland Security, ICE and the tactics being used to remove migrants. But after Saturday's shooting, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said Senate Democrats will not provide the votes to proceed to the appropriations bill if the DHS funding bill is included. That means they're opposing legislation needed to avoid a government shutdown by the end of the week. Republicans need some Democratic support to get a spending package passed by Friday, when temporary funding for the majority of the federal government runs out in Washington. Chill NATO, Fox News.

The winter storm blasting much of the nation may also keep lawmakers from getting to Washington, and that means they may not be able to vote. A new survey is out, and the results may surprise few, if any.

There's a new study out there that names Nevada as America's most deceitful state, which for a lot of folks comes as no surprise. Nevada hitting the jackpot after experts counted romance swindles, fraud cases, identity theft, bogus doctor's notes, fake IDs, and get this, even Google searches for the notorious cheating site Ashley Madison. But other states are not exactly pristine when it comes to honesty. Arizona, for example, had the most romance scams reported in 2024, with almost $54 million lost to love swindlers.

Paul Stevens, FOX News More than 200,000 customers are without power as that major winter storm pushes its way across the nation. The number is expected to rise as the system moves into the Northeast. Poweroutage US says at least 50,000 are in the dark in Louisiana, about that many in Texas. The rest of the outage is now in New Mexico, Mississippi and Arkansas. And again, that number is expected to rise as that storm moves into the Northeast and into New England.
