In New York City, Democratic nominee Zoram Hamdani was elected as the city's next mayor. The mayor elected defeat defeated independent candidate Andrew Cuomo. He wished the best in private life while speaking to his supporters.

Cuomo warned the city was headed down a dangerous, dangerous road, but offered to help Mamdani in any way that he can. He'll be the city's first Muslim mayor and the youngest in more than 100 years. In Virginia, Abigail Spamberger making history as Virginia's first female governor elect. Speaking after the polls closed, Spamberger thanked her Republican opponent, Winsome Sears for the hard fought race.

No big winner in Tuesday night's Mega Millions jackpot that was worth 800 million bucks. The winning numbers drawn 11, 14, 17, 50, 57 and a mega ball of six. The jackpot now grows to at least 843 million for Friday night. There's been no big jackpot winner since the end of June. At least seven people killed, 11 others injured when a UPS cargo plane crashed will take it off in Louisville, Kentucky, Tuesday. Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg says the NTSB is investigating. There'll be 28 folks from NTSB coming. They're sending a large crew to do the investigation and deal with this disaster. The plane was headed to Honolulu before it exploded. The government shutdown has now broken the all time record. Fox's Ryan Schmelz is on Capitol Hill with more.

At 36 days, the US is now in the midst of the longest government shutdown in history. Republicans have tried over a dozen times to pass a stopgap measure to reopen the government until November 21. But now majority Leader John Thune says a new date is needed.

We've lost five weeks, so the November 21 deadline no longer makes a lot of sense. So clearly it would have to be extended. And there is a conversation around what that next deadline would be.

Discussions are underway on a deal to reopen the government and come to an agreement on the Affordable Care act tax credits, which have been a sticking point for Democrats on Capitol Hill. Ryan schmelz, FOX News.

And the remains of another hostage in Gaza have been turned over and are now in Israel is according to Israeli military. It's the latest sign of progress under the US Brokered ceasefire. Ahead of the announcement, Hamas had returned the remains of 20 hostages to Israel under the ceasefire that began back on October 10th. If the latest remains are confirmed during forensic testing, that would leave the remains of seven others remaining in Gaza. I'm Ted Lindner.
