No motive for the shooting has been released and no arrests have been announced. The Essex County Prosecutor's office is the lead investigator. The FBI arrested a suspect in connection with an attempted attack on Acting U.S. attorney for the District of New Jersey Alina Habba. Fox's Connor Hanson has details on the attack.

It's another frightening reminder of the threats against public officials, even for an experienced prosecutor. Alina Habba told Fox this hits too close to home. The FBI says he showed up to the federal building in Newark, New Jersey where Habba's office is holding a baseball bat in. He was initially turned away but was allowed inside after returning without the bat, according to investigators. They say he then smashed and destroyed property at the U.S. attorney's office. Haba says a recent streak of political violence won't slow down her work.

The FBI says 51 year old Keith Michalisa was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon in a federal facility and depredation of federal property. America's listening to FOX News.
