The president's been focusing his rhetoric on affordability. This after Democrats made Gaines pledging to bring down costs during last month's off year elections. One person is dead, another in critical condition after a shooting at a Kentucky State University. The Kentucky governor, Andy Beshear.

This was not a mass shooting or a random incident based on what I've been told. And the suspected shooter is already in custody. That means that while this was scary, there is no ongoing threat and I believe our families are safe.

Kentucky State's a public historically black university, about 2,200 students. The school sits about two miles east of the Capitol building in Frankfurt. The US deployed two F A18 fighter jets over the Gulf of Venezuela on Tuesday in what appears to be the closest known approach of American military aircraft to Venezuelan airspace so far. Flight tracking data showing the jets flying for about 30 minutes north of the coastline. A US defense official calling it a routine training mission, stressing the aircraft's state and international airspace. The flight comes amid months of increased US Military activity following strikes on suspected drug smuggling vessels in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific. And Democrat Eileen Higgins has won the mayor's race in Miami, defeating Emilio Gonzalez, a Republican endorsed by President Trump, ending the party's three decade long losing streak in the city and giving Democrats a boost in one of the last battles ahead of the midterms.
