He has since moved on to Georgia, visiting a steel plant to talk about the U.S. economy. Just getting word that Virginia's new governor, Abigail Spanberger will deliver the Democratic response to the president's State of the Union speech next week. Virginia also the setting for the latest lawsuit over new congressional maps as a group of Republicans try to stop a Democrat plan from going to voters.

The Republican National Committee, the National Republican Congressional Committee and Congressmembers Ben Klein and Morgan Griffith have filed suit in Virginia alleging state Democrats efforts to redistrict congressional lines violates the state constitution. The case is before the same judge who's already ruled in a separate suit that the constitutional amendment allowing for a redraw of congressional lines is unlawful. The state Supreme Court ruled the amendment can still proceed to a vote and early voting begins March 6th. This latest effort asks for an emergency ruling that would stop the vote.

Tesla's robo taxi fleet crash total in Austin, Texas, now jacked up to 14 since its debut in June, with the addition of five more collisions in December and January. That's nine times higher than the average human driver, according to EVSight Electric, which alleges the company's redacting crash details in their reports. One of the coll was with a bus while the Tesla was stationary. In another, the Tesla backed into a tree at a very low speed. Virtually all its driving was with a trained safety monitor on board, meaning they likely prevented other crashes. Competitor Waymo has also had issues initiating a recall of 3,000 vehicles after cameras showed they failed to stop for school buses.
