No peace deal. I'm Debra Valentine, Fox News. The U.S. and Iran did not reach a deal following 21 hours of talks in Pakistan. The vice president said Tehran did not agree to the US Position that Tehran not possess the capability to produce or have nuclear weapons.

This comes after 21 hours of high stakes negotiations in Islamabad, Pakistan. The peace talks are aimed at preserving a two week old cease fire in the Iran war now entering its seventh week. Vance cited a lack of commitment from Iran to abandon nuclear weapons development. Iranian state media blamed, quote, excessive demands from the US for the breakdown.

The talks came over a month after the US launched Operation Epic Fury on February 28th. Centcom confirming two Navy destroyers are searching for mines in the Strait of Hormuz,

writing that the USS Michael Murphy and the USS Frank E. Peterson are searching for any Iranian mines while trying to establish a clear and safe path. Underwater drones will also be used in the coming days. Now the Strait of Hormuz is considered very treacherous right now. As the New York Times reports, Iran may not be able to fully detect where the Iranian regime may have dropped mines. Centcom writing, today we begin the process of establishing a new passage and we will share this safe pathway with the maritime industry soon to encourage the free flow of commerce. Iran's blockage has created multiple global problems including a shortage of jet fuel.
