A new proposal under consideration. I'm Sue Guzman, Fox News. U.S. central Command says the United States has fired on an Iranian oil tanker that tried to sail past the US Navy blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. And it comes as President Trump is signaling progress in talks with Iran to end the conflict.

It feels like we've been down this road before, maybe more than once, but President Trump seems to believe that Iran can be taken to the negotiating and a deal can be done. They want to make a deal. We've had very good talks over the last 24 hours. Earlier in the day, the president sounded a whole lot more pessimistic, saying that if an agreement doesn't come soon, the US Will resume bombing. But the focus now is on a one page memorandum that would formally end the conflict and provide a framework for further discussion.

Two patients with hantavirus infections and one suspected of being infected, including the ship's doctor, were flown out of the Cape Verde Islands off the coast of West Africa to the Netherlands. The ship was continuing on to the Canary Islands, where remaining passengers are expected to receive medical screenings before being allowed to return home. A Dutch national died on board the ship a month ago. His wife, who left the ship, died after collapsing at the airport in Johannesburg, South Africa. And the body of a German national who died remains on the ship. Officials told the AP they believe the initial infected couple contracted the disease, which is spread by inhaling contaminated rodent droppings while bird watching at a landfill during a stop in Argentina. a court document containing what is believed to be a suicide note written by Jeffrey Epstein has been unsealed by a judge.
E
The note, believed to have been written as Epstein sat in a Manhattan jail cell awaiting trial, expressed his belief that investigators had no evidence of alleged sex crimes he faced. Part of it read, they investigated me for months, found nothing. The note also contained the sentence time to say goodbye, which could be interpreted as an intent to commit suicide. The New York Times reported the writing was found in July 2019 after an apparent attempt to end his life that Epstein survived. That was July 23. Epstein was found unresponsive Aug. 10 and later pronounced dead in New York. Granal Scott, Fox News Lawyers for President

federal appeals court recently upheld an $83 million judgment against President Trump for defaming writer E. Jean Carroll, the court, rejecting the president's argument that he should have been protected by presidential immunity. In a filing, a lawyer for the president asked the appeals court to pause its ruling from taking effect while he waits to see if the Supreme Court will take up the case, arguing if the payment is not put on hold, he would suffer irreparable harm. Carroll's lawsuit centered on allegations the president sexually assaulted her in a New York City department store in the 1990s and then defamed her in 2019 by denying her account, calling her a liar. The president has repeatedly denied the claims.
