The district attorney for Dyer and Lake counties in Tennessee, Danny Goodman, said he intends to prosecute Austin Drummond, seeking a sentence of death. Drummond appeared by video link for his Thursday hearing, during which a not guilty plea was entered by Judge Andrew Cook. Bond was also denied for Drummond, whom police say killed the parents, uncle and grandmother of an infant left abandoned in the front yard of a home. Drummond was on the run for a week before tips and sightings led police to him. He faces four first degree murder counts as well as kidnapping and weapons charges. Instagram's latest update now includes Instagra Map, which can show your location data to other users. Some are complaining that this feature could lead to safety issues, especially for people threatened by stalkers. Meta the company behind Instagram, says the feature is by default not activated. But just to be sure it's not broadcasting your location, go to the top of the DM box, then to the map, tap the settings icon in the upper right and then under there, select who can see your location and change it to none. If you want no one to find you, don't forget to tap Done to save the settings. Eben Brown, FOX News A federal judge.

Release Date: August 8, 2025
Host/Author: FOX News Podcasts
The early hours of August 8, 2025, saw a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. The Israeli security cabinet approved a strategic plan to take over Gaza City, marking a pivotal shift in the region's dynamics.
Carmen Roberts opened the segment by highlighting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's recent statements:
"Prime Minister Netanyahu told Fox News he wants to occupy the entire Gaza Strip" [00:02].
In an exclusive interview with Bill Hemmer, Netanyahu elaborated on Israel's intentions:
"We intend to, in order to assure our security, remove Hamas there, enable the population to be free of Gaza and to pass it to civilian governance. That is not Hamas and not anyone advocating the destruction of Israel" [00:33].
Bill Hemmer further reported, noting Hamas's response to Netanyahu's declaration:
"Hamas is responding to Netanyahu saying that any force that tries to govern in Gaza will be considered an occupying force" [00:49].
This military move comes amid internal protests within Israel, where many citizens express concerns over the safety of hostages held by Hamas. The decision underscores the tense and volatile situation in the region, with significant implications for both local populations and international relations.
Turning to international affairs, Carmen Roberts reported on the strained relations between the United States and Russia concerning the Ukraine conflict:
"Today is President Trump's deadline for Russia to agree to a cease fire in Ukraine or face more sanctions" [00:56].
Despite the looming deadline, Jared Halperin provided an update on diplomatic efforts:
"Still, President Trump says he could meet with Putin next week even if the Russian leader will not meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky" [01:18].
This development indicates potential shifts in diplomatic engagements, as President Trump remains open to direct talks with President Putin, regardless of Zelensky's participation. The international community is closely watching these negotiations, hoping for a resolution to the prolonged conflict in Ukraine.
Natural disasters also dominated the early news cycle, with Carmen Roberts announcing a rapidly spreading wildfire in Southern California:
"Another wildfire explodes in Southern California" [01:27].
Bill Hemmer detailed the fire's swift progression:
"Within an hour, hour and a half, we have flames all the way up into the mountains" [01:31].
The canyon fires have already burned nearly 5,000 acres, leading to evacuations in Ventura and Los Angeles counties. Bill Hemmer emphasized the severity of the conditions:
"Conditions so dry, everything that these flames hit just explodes instantly. Gusty winds adding fuel to the canyon fire" [01:35].
Authorities are mobilizing resources to contain the blaze, but the dry environment and strong winds pose significant challenges to firefighting efforts.
In the business segment, an advertisement highlighted the challenges faced by modern enterprises:
"It's an interesting time for business. Tariff and trade policies are dynamic, supply chains are squeezed and cash flow tighter than ever" [02:00].
NetSuite by Oracle is promoted as a comprehensive solution for business management, emphasizing features like real-time forecasting and AI-powered automation. This segment underscores the importance of adaptability and technological integration for businesses striving to thrive in a complex economic landscape.
Tragedy struck in Tennessee, where Carmen Roberts reported on a grave criminal case:

Grinnell Scott provided details on the prosecution's stance:
"The district attorney for Dyer and Lake counties in Tennessee, Danny Goodman, said he intends to prosecute Austin Drummond, seeking a sentence of death" [03:13].
Drummond, who allegedly killed the parents, uncle, and grandmother of an abandoned infant, pleaded not guilty during a video-link hearing [03:13]. The case has drawn significant attention due to its brutal nature and the extensive manhunt that led to Drummond's capture.
In technology news, Carmen Roberts addressed user concerns regarding Instagram's latest update:
"A new Instagram feature is making many users concerned about their well-being in real life" [03:55].
Jared Halperin explained the new feature, Instagram Map, which allows users to share location data:
"Instagram's latest update now includes InstaMap, which can show your location data to other users. Some are complaining that this feature could lead to safety issues, especially for people threatened by stalkers" [04:00].
While Meta assures that the feature is not activated by default, users can adjust their privacy settings to prevent location sharing. Eben Brown provided a step-by-step guide to managing these settings, emphasizing the importance of user vigilance in safeguarding personal information [04:00].
Environmental and immigration issues were also highlighted, with Carmen Roberts reporting:
"A federal judge temporarily halts construction of the migrant detention center in the Florida Everglades known as Alligator Alcatraz as she considers whether it violates environmental laws" [04:39].
Simultaneously, Dean Cain, famed for his role as Superman in the 1990s, announced his honorary appointment:
"Dean Cain, who starred as TV's Superman in the 1990s, says he will be sworn in as an honorary ICE officer" [04:57].
This move has sparked debate over the symbolic gesture and its implications for immigration enforcement policies. Grinnell Scott added:
"I will be sworn in as an ICE agent as..." [04:57], highlighting Cain's commitment to supporting immigration authorities.
