President Trump on Truth Social responding to the criticism, arguing he did not suffer a major defeat in his meeting with Putin in the US as has been reported by some media outlets and commenting on Truth Social, he also said Ukraine can end the war immediately by dropping demands to join NATO and abandoning plans to try to reclaim Crimea. Hurricane Erin continuing on its path through the Atlantic, it has now picked up steam. It's a category with 130 mile an hour winds.

Fox's Ashley Stromeier Hurricane Erin continues to lash the Caribbean with damaging winds and heavy rain. Erin's outer bands have already knocked out power to nearly 150,000 people in Puerto Rico. And while it's not forecast to make landfall, the storm is expected to double or even triple in size. That could bring life threatening surf and rip currents to the east coast by midweek.

A search continues for suspects in a deadly shooting early Sunday at a Brooklyn nightclub.

Investigators say at least four people opened fire at the Brooklyn Lounge in what they believe is a gang related shooting. Community crisis management teams have now been dispatched to escalate tensions among gangs. The shooting is a reminder of a key issue for voters in the upcoming mayoral election, which is less than three months out. Zoram Mamdani, who has walked back his previous comments on defunding the police, praised first responders this morning and then later today doubled down on his campaign promise to bring violence interrupters to New Yorkers through a new city agency he wants to create. And Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa wrote in part, quote, I I'm the only candidate with the courage to restore law and order in New York City.

That's fox's CB Cotton reporting. And the NYPD says an off duty police officer was outside a residential building Sunday when he was approached by two individuals on mopeds. One of those people brandishing a firearm. The officer fired multiple shots at them, killing the gunman. The other fled the scene on the moped. And it started as California Governor Gavin Newsom's response to a plan by Texas Republican House members to flip five Democratic districts Republican. Now he says no matter what happens, California will move ahead with a plan to turn five red districts in his state blue.

This week, California lawmakers are expected to approve new proposed congressional maps for voters to then approve in a special election this November. California Democrats say they've launched this campaign to counter the ongoing effort by President Donald Trump and Texas Republicans to create up to five GOP friendly congressional seats in the Lone Star State. It's part of a bigger effort by Republicans to keep the House majority during the midterms next year. They have a razor thin majority right now.
