The alleged killer, Decarlos Brown, was previously arrested at least 14 times and has an extensive violent criminal history. The U.S. attorney in the district where the killing happened announced a federal homicide case was opened because the killing happened on public transit. And the killing of Zaratska is being investigated as a possible civil rights violation if facts show it was racially motivated. President Trump blamed Democratic policies for Zaruska's death and promised his administration is going to fix it.
