U.S. district Court Judge Karen Emmergood has decided to grant the state's request for a temporary restraining order on the deployment of troops to the city. That means the deployment of Oregon National Guard troops to Portland will be paused for now. This sets the stage for another upcoming court hearing called a preliminary injunction hearing, which will likely be held in two weeks when this temporary restraining order expires.

A White House spokesperson says that President Donald Trump is simply trying to protect ICE personnel and others as well as assets from things like violent riots and attacks in cities like Portland and Chicago. A lockdown is reported at South Carolina State University in Orangeburg following a reported shooting near a student housing facility Saturday night. There are no reported injuries. State police haven't called in hundreds arrested in pro Palestinian protests in London after marching to support the Palestine Action Group, a group the British government made illegal to support. Fox's Stephanie Bennett reports from London.

But the rapper's defense team still is not satisfied, arguing that they've got a strong case for an appeal. The rapper himself, his adult children and other supporters pleaded for leniency, asking the judge for a sentence that would have let Diddy walk by the end of this year. On time served, he told the judge he no longer cared about fame and was a changed man. The judge said the court had to send a message to abusers and about accountability and that he was not convinced Diddy would not reoffend.
