Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy saying many more flights could be delayed as air traffic controllers head into their first week without a paycheck. Millions also face hunger as snap benefits could go unpaid. Senator Josh Hawley arguing politics should be taken out of it as Senate Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries continues to blame Republican inaction. Now the impasse in Congress also leading to potentially no pay for our military. And the Pentagon saying they will accept an anonymous $130 million donation to help pay those troops. While generous, that only comes out to about $100 per service member. And Congress may have to get involved in order to get it approved.

US continuing its strikes on boats in the Caribbean as President Trump hints at potential actions on the ground. Fox's David Spunt has more from Washington.

The Pentagon deploying massive help in support of the operation to root out drugs being smuggled into the United States. The Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth has directed the Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group and Embarked Carrier Air Wing to the US southcom area of Responsibility near the Caribbean. Its primary task is to detect, monitor and disrupt illicit activity that threatens the homeland. The announcement comes just hours after the Pentagon carried out its 10th strike on an alleged drug boat accused of Trend Aragua of operating the vessel and leaving six people dead in the Caribbean Sea. These boat strikes, though, have killed more than 40 people so far and will include more if and when the operation moves onshore.

President Donald Trump announced tariffs on Colombia, alleging the country's president, Gustavo Petro, is responsible for drug trafficking in Latin America. Petro denied the claims and called the strikes and Caribbean boats illegal. At least four people are dead as tropical Storm Melissa drenches much of the Caribbean. Fox Weather's Brian Norcross has the latest.

The National Hurricane center says this is going to intensify in a big way because it's out over the water. The water is near record warm there in the Caribbean so the idea is already by Sunday 140 mile an hour category for hurricane and then Monday up knocking on the door of category 5. We still are seeing forecasts here of very heavy rain in the 2 to 3 foot range in Haiti and heavy rain over the Dominican Republic on the southern coast and on up into Cuba and then in Jamaica. Some areas may be up to 3ft of rain.
