This is the second jury verdict stemming from the 2019 fatal crash of a Boeing 737 Max jet in Ethiopia that killed all 157 passengers and crew. In this case, a jury in Chicago awarded $49.5 million to the family of 24 year old American Samya Stumo for her and the family's pain and suffering. Boeing did not contest liability and claims for punitive dam damages were dismissed, but Stumo family attorneys are trying to get those reinstated.
