A petition with more than 80,000 signatures is headed to Tennessee Governor Bill Lee in an effort to stop the execution of Tony Carruthers, the 57 year old death row inmate convicted in a 1994 kidnapping and triple murder. Advocates argue that Carruthers was convicted based on jailhouse testimony and not DNA evidence, saying still untested DNA and fingerprint evidence could lead to another suspect, evidence not presented in court 30 years ago when Carruthers represented himself. Kim Kardashian joining the fight, urging the coveter to allow the new testing. Carruthers execution is set for Thursday.
