Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy says he's directed the Federal Transit Administration to look into the safety of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority after a 66 year old woman was stabbed on a train and a 40 year old man was stabbed at a transit station. Duffy notes in a statement that security incidents on Atlanta transit happen at a rate more than twice the national average. The FTA will focus on crime and fare evasion as well as how funds are spent in Atlanta.

American Airlines confirms it's suspending a number of domestic routes this summer as it deals with sky high jet fuel costs. The airline is quick to point out this is a temporary move currently only slated for August and September, according to Simply Flying, which cited Cirium flight data. The affected routes include four from Los Angeles to Cleveland, Columbus, Pittsburgh and Washington Dulles, plus routes from Charlotte to Ontario and Sacramento.
