About 70% of the vote has been counted in California and several of the outstanding ballots are coming from major metropolitan areas like Sacramento, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Still, Democrat Javier Becerra is expected to advance to the general election in the gubernatorial race. At the moment, his lead over Republican Steve Hilton is less than a percentage point. Becerra is at 26.8% and Hilton is at 26%. Democrat Tom Steyer sits in third place at about 21% in the race for LA mayor. Spencer Pratt and Nithya Rahman are battling it out for second spot to face off against incumbent Karen Bass in November. Rahman gained a one and a half percentage point between Thursday and Friday, slightly eating into Pratt's lead. But Pratt still remains in second place.
