He says there are still some big issues that need to be worked out. One of the biggest, the Strait of Hormuz. President Trump posting on Truth Social earlier ships are starting to move, many loaded up with oil out of the Strait of Hormuz. But reports that Iranian state media said Tehran only agreed to free passage for the 60 day negotiation period and that in the future they plan to collect payments from ships transiting the strait. The interim deal also doesn't tackle Iran's nuclear program. President Trump has been adamant that Iran can't be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon and that the US Would eventually go in to collect the, quote, nuclear dust. But details remain scarce.

The Supreme Court upholds tariffs imposed by President Trump during his first term.

Justices turned aside an appeal from business owners challenging tariffs imposed on imports from China in 2018. President Trump relied on a 1974 law to impose those tariffs, a different law than the emergency powers the Supreme Court rejected on the president's reciprocal tariff regime earlier this year. The ruling could provide a new path for the Trump administration to reimpose some of those tariffs blocked by the Supreme Court through the process.
