Fox's Christina Coleman reporting. An encounter with a bear in Washington state leaves two teens injured.
Deputy Peter Lind
The King County Sheriff's office says a group of teens were hiking up a mount side trail when a black bear charged them. One teen was hurt after being swiped by the animal. Another twisted his ankle while he was trying to run a war. Officials say both are expected to be okay and think the group may have come in between a mother bear and her cubs.
Kristin Goodwin
We had other witnesses said there was a mother bear and they spotted a number of cubs, which would explain why the bear was so aggressive. It's actually very uncommon having someone attacked by a bear out here. Typically, when a bear knows you're here, they want to go the other way. The advice we tell hikers is be be noticeable, be visible.
