A US Official confirms for us that Iran attacked a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz today after Iran was warning ships that transiting the strait without authorization through them would be dealt with.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting the Islamic Republic estimates that charging for security, safety and environmental services in the strait would bring in $40 billion a year in revenue. And the idea if it's implemented, they say would bring Tehran cash flow in control that it did not command before the war.
