Border Patrol shares its latest numbers showing it a 50% plunge in apprehensions and so called gut aways in the last month.
Griff Jenkins
In May, just over 9,500 apprehensions with just over 2,100 gotaways. But in this month, June, just over 5,400 apprehensions and 986 gotaways. That is low. Put it into perspective. We're averaging just 38 gotaways per day in June along the entire 2,000 mile long Southern border. That's compared to the average of about 1,800 today during the Biden administration. That's nearly 100% decrease now. This comes as Attorney General Pam Bondi told lawmakers, more than 1,500 Iranians crossed the border during those Biden years with more than 700 of them being released into the country.

The newscast opens with Chris Foster reporting on a significant development involving Iran's nuclear activities and a recent US airstrike. Senators received a classified briefing today concerning Iran's nuclear program, amid concerns over a leaked intelligence report.
The Trump administration is actively pursuing the origins of the leaked intelligence. The administration has downplayed the extent of the damage while seeking accountability for the breach.
White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt clarified that only portions of an early damage assessment concerning three Iranian nuclear sites were disclosed to the public. She emphasized the uncertainty surrounding the source of the leak, noting it could have originated either within the intelligence community or Capitol Hill. To bolster national security, the administration plans to restrict access to certain classified information from lawmakers.
Jared Halpern provided additional context from the White House.
The Supreme Court delivered rulings on two significant cases, both resulting in a 6-3 majority in favor of the plaintiffs.
a. Planned Parenthood Medicaid Funds
b. Texas Death Row Inmate DNA Testing
Grinnell Scott reports on the ruling concerning Ruben Gutierrez, a death row inmate in Texas seeking DNA evidence testing to challenge his conviction for the 1998 murder of an elderly woman in Brownsville.
Grinnell Scott [01:06]: "Ruben Gutierrez was convicted and sentenced to be put to death for the 1998 killing of an elderly woman in Brownsville. He claims DNA testing will prove he was not involved in the woman's murder."
Despite admitting involvement in the robbery that preceded the murder, Gutierrez argues that DNA evidence could exonerate him from the actual killing. The state of Texas has refused to conduct the DNA test, citing the existing conviction under the state's law of parties, which holds individuals present during a crime accountable.
The Supreme Court's interference, which halted Gutierrez's execution last July, underscores the complexities surrounding capital punishment and evidence-based convictions.
A remarkable celestial event captured the attention of residents across Georgia, the Carolinas, and Tennessee this afternoon.
The National Weather Service identified the phenomenon as likely being a meteorite. Authorities are actively searching for the potential crash site in South Carolina, following reports of a meteorite fragment damaging property, including a roof in Georgia.
Border Patrol shared its latest statistics, revealing a dramatic 50% decrease in apprehensions and "gotaways" over the past month compared to May.
This reduction is contextualized by the comparison to the Biden administration's tenure, highlighting a nearly 100% decrease in daily gotaways along the extensive 2,000-mile Southern border.
Furthermore, Attorney General Pam Bondi informed lawmakers that during the Biden years, over 1,500 Iranians crossed the border, with more than 700 being released into the country.
Illinois Governor JB Pritzker declared his intention to seek a third term in office, emphasizing his dedication to the state's prosperity and the welfare of its working families.
This announcement has fueled speculation about a potential presidential bid, positioning Pritzker as a prominent figure within the Democratic Party. However, no official details regarding a presidential campaign have been disclosed at this time.
Hollywood enthusiasts received exciting news as Denis Villeneuve, the acclaimed Oscar-nominated director known for Dune, was confirmed to direct the next installment in the James Bond franchise.
Villeneuve expressed his enthusiasm for the iconic spy series, affirming his commitment to honoring its rich tradition while bringing his unique vision to the franchise.
