She's one of several protesters escorted out by Capitol police, some holding no war on Iran banners as war Secretary Pete Hegseth testified about the president's request for an additional $87 billion, much of it for the Pentagon, on top of a more than $1 trillion budget request.

Flood warnings remain in effect for parts of south Central Texas after recent deadly flooding.

Heavy rains have exited the region, but a couple of rivers, the Frio and the Nueces, are expected to remain at flood stage through this week. The Frio river is expected to crest at right around 28ft by Wednesday, slightly higher than flood stage begins for it at 27. The Nueces river has already risen above 22ft and is expected to crest this week, a foot and a half higher.

Along the Gulf coast, watches and warnings expanded as Tropical Storm Bertha churns in the Gulf, with a warning extending from Panama City Beach, Florida, to parts of Louisiana. And in the northeastern US Some severe thunderstorms today. Rare tornado watches and warnings in parts of New York State and New Jersey. One US senator isn't finished digging into the origins of COVID 19, launching a reading room where the public can view records he says reveal the FBI halted border inspection of a virus researcher.

Releasing documents showing in 2021, the FBI blocked Border Patrol inspection of EcoHealth Alliance President Peter Dasak, a person of interest in the Wuhan Lab leak, when he returned to JFK Airport in New York after he was flagged over his activities in including links to the Wuhan lab and whether he illegally collected or carried biological samples that the FBI ordered Border Patrol to stand down.
