A Florida father will spend decades in prison over the death of his young son in a hot vehicle.

A judge in the Daytona beach area is sending Scott Gardner to prison for 42 years for leaving his 18 month old son inside a hot car for several hours as he got a haircut and then drinks at a bar. The boy died from the heat. Gardner pleaded no contest to second degree murder and child neglect. The National Highway Traffic Safety administration says nearly 40 children each year die from heat stroke having been left in a hot car with no ventilation or water. getting word the federal government is withdrawing subpoenas for New York Times reporters in an investigation of sources related to security concerns about the new Air Force One jet. A federal judge had indicated he would have approved the paper's request to reject the subpoenas. President Trump is pushing a plan that could incentivize communities to welcome data centers as the administration tries to maintain an AI edge over China.

But data centers are facing backlash in some places over concerns of noise and electricity consumption. President Trump says nearly two dozen governors are sending on to the White House ratepayer protection pledge, promising companies and not consumers will pay for utility increases. All of the 23 governors signing the pledge are Republicans. New York Governor Democrat Kathy Hochul has signed a temporary moratorium on data center construction at the White House.
