The 28 year old Indian national made a zoom call into court. He's facing three counts of vehicular homicide, three counts of manslaughter and he now has no bond. Singh did not yet plead guilty or not guilty. The judge acknowledged Singh is an illegal alien, saying no conditions of release would ensure his appearance at trial. All this comes after Singh allegedly killed three people on a Florida highway earlier this month. Video shows Singh making an illegal U turn in an 18 wheeler while a minivan crashes into the truck.

Singh's brother has also been arrested and faces deportation. The Trump administration is suspending visas for foreign truck drivers in response to this incident. Immigration officials say they intend to deport undocumented immigrant Kilmer Abrego Garcia to an African country after leaving jail on Friday. This after his defense attorney say he declined an offer to be sent to Costa Rica in exchange for staying in jail and pleading guilty to human smuggling charges.
C
ICE sources tell Fox they plan to deport him to Uganda after the country recently cut a deal to accept third party deportation. Abrego Garcia was freed from jail in Tennessee after two judges ruled he should be released ahead of his January trial. He'll be placed in his brother's custody in Maryland and has to wear a monitor. In a statement, Secretary Kristi Noem says this judge has shown a complete disregard for the safety of the American people. Abrego Garcia made headlines earlier this year when he was mistakenly deported to El Salvador for being a suspected member of Ms. 13 that violated a 2019 court order that protected him from being sent there.

The vote was finalized after Republicans blocked a filibuster. The bill now heads to Governor Greg Abbott's desk to be signed into law. The new map was drawn to help the GOP win as many as five additional U.S. house seats in next year's midterm elections. This marks the final legislative hurdle for the redistricting plan backed by President Trump and Texas Governor Greg Abbott. The Senate's approval follows weeks of uncertainty after House Democrats fled the state for 15 days to block the 2/3 quorum needed to conduct business.

That map now heads to Governor Greg Abbott for his signature. Democrats vowed to challenge that plan in court. Meantime, California residents will vote on their own redrawn congressional maps designed to flip five Republican seats. That's an effort to counter Texas redistricting efforts.
