U.S. district Judge Paula Zinnis has denied the DOJ's request delay deportation proceedings for the Salvadoran national while the government is shut down. Zinnis saying in part that she feels duty bound to continue the case given its importance. The illegal immigrant and accused Ms. 13 gang member was deported back to El Salvador in March and later returned to the US to face criminal human trafficking charges in Tennessee, where a judge in that case is also ordering a hearing in Abrego Garcia's bid to show that that case is retaliatory.
